Remote Networking Tips #6: Give your Online Profile a Refresh!

Your online profile is your shop window. If you haven’t already given it a refresh – now is the perfect time to do so.

Start by making sure that your profiles are up to date and give it a make-over if it needs some love and attention.

For example have you carried out all these steps yet to improve your LinkedIn Profile?

• Complete your profile 100% and have an “all-star” profile. This includes including a summary, headline, job title, experience etc.
• Have a professional photograph/profile picture
• Use a Background Picture
• Update your URL (and make it personal)
• Include your volunteering activities on LinkedIn (which is an often overlooked step when people create their profile).
• use Skills and Endorsements to boost your profile (and recommend others) (another often overlooked step when people create their profile).
• add videos to your profile.

It is important to ensure that your social media profiles and website profiles are up to date and are relevant. If you are not generally in the habit of doing this (over and beyond key changes if at all) you might want to consider using one of our checklists.
