A to Z Challenge: L is for… Linked In

A to Z - L

We often talk about thought leadership as a strategy for improving your visibility and raising your profile. This is why we have made Thought Leadership the overarching theme for our first A to Z Challenge.

Thought Leadership ties together the different strategies that we talk about including writing, speaking, networking, PR and Marketing. Thought-Leadership is about utilising your expertise and deep specialism and knowledge to answer questions, covering trends in your business/sector and being part of the conversation.

Simply put: it is being an Authority.

During the challenge, we will be looking at different ways that you can demonstrate thought-leadership and raise your profile.

Social media is a key way to demonstrate thought-leadership and raise your profile which is why LinkedIn has been chosen for today’s post.

Use LinkedIn to Publish Articles

You can use LinkedIn to publish articles that demonstrate your expertise. If you don’t have your own blog you can use the LinkedIn … to post your own articles. Even if you do have your own blog you can post “teaser” content or links on LinkedIn to drive traffic to your blog and get your blog in front of a wider audience.

Use LinkedIn groups to boost your visibility

LinkedIn groups can be used to boost your visibility. As with other platforms most groups revolve around certain topics or common interests. This means that if you find the right groups you can find your perfect audience. Talking directly to your audience is a great way to demonstrate your expertise and to establish yourself as a thought leader in a particular niche.

Join relevant groups and interact with members. Add value.

The interaction and engagement alone will leave your name and that of your brand front of mind for some group members. Use these groups regularly and you will build a presence there. People will start to follow you, engage with you and awareness of your brand will grow.

If you can’t find a suitable or relevant group you might want to consider setting up your own if you think there is a gap.
