Following up: Treat Someone to a Cup of Coffee

Part of your following up strategy should have regular check-ins with your priority contacts.  A great way of following up with them is to treat them to a cup of coffee. However, it is important to remember that you should be trying to make the follow up beneficial for both you and your contact. In order to do this, it is not usually sufficient to just invite them for coffee.

You should have a hook (a reason) for them to join you for coffee even if it is just a catch-up / follow up coffee. A great example of this is an offer to share knowledge.

This might be something within your area of expertise, this might be something you know they are looking for, this might be a further conversation on something you touched on last time.  Whatever it is just make sure you have a hook.
