On Instagram branding is very important. This is because it is a visual platform. As a result you should ensure that the look and feel of your account is ” on brand”.

When networking first impresessions count. Being “on brand” and have a clean and cohensive look can help you make a good first impression.

If you have been using your account for a while or have not had any particular brand or strategy don’t be afraid to go back through your account and delete and archive posts that are not on brand so that you have a cleaner and more cohesive look.

The other advantage of having a strong brand on instagram is that it can also make you more memorable.

Having a brand makes it easier for people to recognise and remember you. This means that when you pop up in their feed they know that they have spoken to you before and/or can easily find you. Or if they don’t already know you, people will learn to recognise you (and people are more likely to engage with someone that they are familiar with / recognise as they are keen to build relationships.)
