New Year; New You: Your Visibility Plan for 2020

Welcome to 2020. The new year is the perfect time to review and reset your visibility goals. If you are reading this blog we assume that you want to BOOST your visibility. There are four key strategies that you can use to do this and you should start by setting goals for each of your chosen strategies.

By way of reminder the strategies are:

  1. PR and Marketing
  2. Networking
  3. Presenting
  4. Writing.

You may not choose to use them all – you may decide to only use one or two that suit you. However, whatever strategy you are using it is important to set goals.

Set goals and design your visibility plan for 2020

Start by re-visiting your visibility questions and answers (which are found in your visibility planner or as part of the printables collection). Simply put they are:

  • Who do you want to be visible to and why?
  • Where do they hang out?

Once you have revisited these questions you can then start to think about your goals (and your plan to get there).

For example, I want to be more visible to client X so that I strengthen my relationship with them and get more work. For this goal, I can then utilise a number of strategies.

  • PR and Marketing – I can invite them to an event that the Company is hosting, I can research out to them online and add them to my social media channels.
  • Networking – I can meet them at the event I have invited them to. I can then follow this up with some one-to-one networking over coffee/lunch.
  • Speaking – I can ask them if there is any training I can offer them in my area of expertise that is relevant to their business.
  • Writing – I can email them articles that I have written that might be of interest. Consider what would this particular client be interested in.

These strategies can then be broken down into specific action points or things to research and ultimately form part of your visibility plan for 2020.
