R is for… Recommendations

What is a recommendation?

A recommendation is a comment written by another member about you which is displayed on your profile page. Recommendations should come from people who value your work, services or products such as clients, customers and co-workers. As with all networking and in line with standard business practice people prefer to work with people who come recommended by someone they know and trust.

On LinkedIn there is no limit to the number of recommendations you can request or give.

How to give a recommendation…

You can either do it directly from their profile page by clicking on the more icon and then selecting recommendation. Alternatively, you can do it from the recommendations management page, where there is a tab for giving recommendations (it also lists any pending requests for recommendations).
