Networking Tips - Following Up

Wondering how to “follow-up” with your networking contacts? Here is our master list of suggestions for follow-up activities.

Within the first 24 Hours of Meeting Someone for the first time

1. Send A Quick Email – send a short and sweet “nice to meet you” email. If you got on particularly well with someone and want to follow-up with someone properly – suggest a further follow-up activity such as getting a coffee.

2. Connect on LinkedIn – Not everyone uses LinkedIn but it can be a great place to connect and find out more about a contact. If you are also a twitter user you could also follow them on twitter.

3. Add them to your CRM Systems –  whether you use a CRM system or an address book – whatever system you have in place make sure you add your new contact to it.

4. Schedule a follow up if the person is someone you see value in keep-in-touch with on a regular basis and might become one of your Priority Contacts – make sure you schedule a follow up activity. If you already know that you want them to be a priority contact make sure you add them to the list and add a diary reminder at an appropriate frequency for reaching out/
